There won't be any gifts this Christmas, but hope that I can give them something during tax time. I am a single mother drowning in medical bills and I work so much as it is and I cannot afford a tree or even Christmas. I don't care about if I get anything I just want my son to smile and be happy on Christmas morning. Comments: I think the hardest part of being poor is the feeling of hopelessness that washes over you like a giant wave when something you really need is so far out of reach that it hursts to think about it. My van died in October - the repaur bill was over $1100 - more than tbe book value of the car, BUT THAT CAR WAS INVALUABLE TO ME. There is no limit to the value of a car when you live alone and need to go to doctor 15 miles away, or my neices wedding two states away. And today, its something small -I HAVE NO WAY TO TAKE MY LITTLE DOG, ARIEL, TO GET HER NAILS CLIPPED. ITBREAKS MY HEART NOT BEING ABLE TO CARE FOR HER LIKE I SHOULD. I could not fill out the form for some reason, it would not let me. We are living out of our car and are very scared. Comments: My husband & I live in a seasonal area. Unfortunately this time of year it is hard to find work. We are lucky enough that my husband has a year round job. But we still are struggling. I am waiting to have my fourth knee surgery & can not work at this time. I've applied for disability but it is a long slow process. Therefore I am unable to help my husband by contributing to our household bills. This month we find ourselves in a bad situations. We've had to prioritize bills & unfortunately after the important ones such as rent & car so my husband can keep working. We found ourselves having to decide over electricity & food. We chose food , but now we're down to one day left on our electric account. After today we find ourselves with no electricity. Which means no heat, water or even refrigeration. Any help you can spare would be very greatly appreciated. If you can not help we completely understand as this is a hard time of year for many. Now I'm waiting for the appeal, but in the meantime I have no income coming in and my wife can't support us on her income ($871). I am struggling to come up with security deposits and everything else that you have to have to even get a home. I have to have a place to get a job and a job to have a place to live.
