Comments: Please help me to help others! Hello! My name is Renita. I have cerebral palsy, but I'm able to walk with the assistance of walker. I had an extensive customer service/call center background before my other mental health disability rendered me unable to work. I have average computer skills, but excellent written and verbal skills. Today, I use these skills to assist the director of my home healthcare/residential program to find resources like Netwish as well as government assistance, transportation, rental, healthcare (you name it) and place applications for my my peers who lack the computer/internet and general navigating skills that God has blessed me with! Unfortunately, I'm having to do this solely with the use of a government issued cellphone which has very limited capabilities and the director has approximately 40 non-standard residential lease clients at any given time who come in and out (join and leave) of the program. I basically volunteer my time/skills so I'm not actually employed and the director is unable to provide a computer due to the COVID pandemic greatly affecting revenue; many clients are behind on rent (some DO NOT get checks and have lost their jobs). I've managed to pay my rent since I receive a monthly disability check but my room rent is $600 making it nearly impossible to purchase a reasonably satisfactory computer so that I help more of my peers. Any assistance you can provide in regards to to obtaining even a used computer will be soooo greatly appreciated! May God bless! Comments: Hello my name is Kristy "April" Anzalone.I am a 48yr old widow with 2 beautiful girls that God blessed my deceased husband Charlie & I with. He was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2008. Times have been hard for the girls & I but with the love & comfort of Jesus Christ we pull through. After losing him I had to work 2 jobs to make ends meet. 1 of my bosses had just retired & that left me with only 1 income. Then the unthinkable happened again & Corona virus hit & I was layed off from the only income that we had to support us Basically since the federal aid ended I have been surviving on $107.00 a week. It led to me lose our home, my car & self confidence. I didn't know where to turn, but look up to God. Currently we have been staying with my parents & have hopes of getting another place. I pray daily & just thank God for another home & eventually another form of transportation if God's will. Comments: Hello, My name is Evelyn Gonzales (36yrs) I'm married to Steven Gonzales (my highschool sweetheart) for a lil over 20 years now and have 2 beautiful son's name steven jr (15) and eli (6). Let me tell you a little short story about our life's in these last couple years that passed by I can really say that 2020 really is one of the toughest, roughest n hardest year I have gone through in my life and I can say fursure that there are a lot of more people going through there hardest hardship as well. Since before this pandemic happen I was attending college full time (finish my a. In liberal arts) as well as working for the school district part time (teachers assistant for Pre-K) and my husband was a pipe fitter which he installed fire sprinklers. He got hurt at work and has been laid off from work for about 2 years now and I just recently beggining of this year I got laid off from work due to this pandemic crisis. I was trying my hardest to be the one to take care of my family when my husband got hurt and since he couldn't bring in enough income due to h only RECEIVING disability and staying home and doing the duties as one would say only wife's should be doing which is cleaning, cooking, watching kids, doing the errands,ect. He actually took over those duties with no hesitation and has been doing a really good job and being Soo supportive with me being out from he all day since I would be at work or school. But now our life's has change drastically, I no longer work and can't afford to pay for school either was going to start my 3rd year in college but this year would have been my first time attending a university which would have been Brandman university or csusb. I'm really b sad that I can't attend since I want to get my B.A and work up to receive my M.A. I'm currently in the process of trying to receive se sort of income since edd in california is so bad right now there not issuing anyone new until they get this fraud under control so I applied for financial Aide but they can't give you any money until u start going to school for 2-3 months. We pretty much lost everything from renting our home, loosing jobs/school and now I'm not able to catch up on my car payments and it's on repo. Its so frustrating to know that everiis going through something right now and there is hardly any help. I am receiving food stamps and my husband's 640$ disability a month is stitim progress so Im thankful for that as well as having one of our closes friend take me and my family in his 2 bedroom apartment and even though I feel like things could be much worse I'm just glad that my family is still healthy and we have a roof over our heads for now. I would really appreciate it if you guys can help us out with anything I mean really any lil thing will help us out right now. And if for some reason you guys can't that's ok I'm grateful for this opportunity to have share a lil about myself and having u guys take the out of ur life to read my story. God Bless and stay Safe

Comments: Hello, I am writing today in search of Rental Assistance Resources. We heard that you are a local community resource that helps those struggling locally with various assistance programs, so we thought we would reach out to request assistance and help. My husband and are both disabled, we both suffer from mental illness and various other health conditions. We are just a little bit behind in rent due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, and we were hoping and praying that you could help us or point us in the right direction to get some help.
Our rent is normally $850 a month, and we have been making as many payments as possible during all this craziness, and we have got it paid down to where we owe just $460 in total in past due rent now. My husband and I do get regular SSI and he also receives SSD, so we have some income to work with to keep caught up if we can just get help with our current balance of the past due $460. We were able to keep as caught up as we have by diligently always paying what we could, and we have good rapport with our landlord and our realty company (which is Remax) as well.
However, with the Covid-19 relief coming to an end, and with rent being due in full right now, but especially in January when they re-instate evictions for non-payment of rent, we desperately need to find some help paying our past due balance of the $460. We are certain that with a little hand up, we can then move on from here and be able to stay caught up with everything. We cannot even celebrate the holiday’s this year because we just do not have any extra money whatsoever.
I was working part-time despite my disability for a little while, but I had a mental breakdown that resulted in a suicide attempt (for which I am going to get counseling), and this made it to where I lost my job. The job was also not providing lunch breaks or proper breaks for employees, and the stress was just too much on me. They had me working over 8 hours with no lunch, and only 4 five-minute breaks during the whole 8-hour period of work. It was just too much for me, especially considering I suffer from both physical disabilities and mental illnesses that are severe. (I did report this anonymously to the labor board.)
I am currently thinking about returning to school to pursue an actual career to better provide for my family and for myself, and I am also seeking out the mental health treatment in therapy that I need to get healthy coping skills for my mental conditions and ever-prevalent anxiety and panic attacks from social anxiety and ptsd from past abuse and trauma. I have found a counselor who will work with me via text, which works best for me, and I am currently applying with them for treatment.
Also, last month I did not realize that our Welfare application was due to re-apply for food stamps, and with everything going on and my mental crisis, I forgot to fill out the application in time and we now also have no food stamps for this month. I did apply yesterday online though, and we are hoping they can expedite things to get us some type of food stamp benefits. We are going to be visiting local food banks this month because of this. In short, it' been a very difficult time for my husband and I, and we're just seeking some rent relief assistance with that past due $460 so that we can get stable and caught up again.
If there is anything that you can do to help us, or if you have other resources you could refer us to in the community, we would be very grateful. As I said, my husband and I are both disabled and low-income, but we do have regular income from Social Security, so if we could get one-time assistance with our past due rent, we know we could carry on and manage on our own afterwards. PLEASE let us know if you can help us, and what information you will need to do so. We would greatly appreciate any assistance and sincerely appreciate your time in reading all of this. Sorry it was so long, but I wanted to explain that because of my mental health issues and disabilities things have been especially difficult and stressful lately, and we are just seeking a little kindness and aid in getting back on our feet fully. I am fighting everyday hoping and praying to get though all of this. Well now its a long process to get social security benefits and idont have any money coming in my family does help as much as they could but they are all on low income as well. Comments: Hello, my name is Shauntinique W****and i'm in need of some assistance. my rent is 577.00 but the total amount is 1500 due to my previous landlord didn't notify my about my rent change and it accumulated to 2000.00 and i have been reaching out to different resources for help and i have not had any luck but emergency assistance paid 516.00 towards my rent and i have also reached out to salvation army but i'm not sue how long the process will take. i have received a five day notice and a eviction notice. i am praying that i receive more help so the rent can get paid. they are giving me til December 31, 2020 to pay the rent and get caught up and on top of that i am single mother of two who's doing everything by myself, so i have to pay bills,rent, and i don't receive food share so i have to buy food with my money plus get the things we need, household items, and more. it's very hard for me right now and i am doing the best i can with what i have. Comments: My husband is 84 and I am 77. We have a pet dog, Jessie who has some serious allergies. I took her to the vet today for treatment and meds that totaled $303.00. Two months ago her vet bill was $500.00. Since we're on Social Security, we just can't afford these high bills and may have to give her up to a shelter. Comments: I am really struggling this year. I'm a single mom of a 13 year old special needs son. And a beautiful little girl that is 9 years old. Both of my parents are terminally ill, my father has heart failure and my mother is stage 4 colon cancer. I've recently been unemployed and receiving unemployment. It does help alot, but leaves no extra for anything.
