Comments: My wish is to get back on my feet instead of become homeless after recently escaping an abusive relationship. After the last physical assault from my, now ex boyfriend, I was able to get myself to the emergency room where authorities were contacted on my behalf. Iād been pummeled in the side of my head, choked, slapped across my face, punched in the stomach and kicked. Iāve suffered 3 concussions total and a totaled vehicle all in the span of 4 months. This man used and abused me in every way, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, psychologically, sexually, even spiritually. He is a master manipulator and has left me with no resources, not to mention having to care for his 2 dogs that I ultimately had to surrender due to lack of financial stability and physical ability to care for them. He was finally arrested and charged with domestic assault, false imprisonment, interference with emergency calls, resisting arrest and assault of a first responder. I have been unable to work due to the trauma and physical abuse (as well as other health issues) Iāve endured and have now lost my car to repossession, my utilities have been disconnected twice and my rent is past due by 4.5 months. I have reached out to local resources with my situation and have had some assistance but very little. I know it is only a matter of time before my landlord says she canāt let me stay in my home any longer. Iāve started a gofundme in hopes of maybe some generous people helping me out, as Iāve exhausted my very small family of their resources. Iāve always been an independent woman, a single mom, worked for everything I had and helped others in every way possible, so itās hard to be on this side asking for help, but I would be so grateful for any support I could be given.

I have no one else in my life to ask for a loan, the family I had has since passed away. I need to come up with $1100 to catch up with my rent , well basically the rent late fees. I can pay my rent but I have fallen behind a few times and one time it was because of a frozen pipe last winter when my daughter left open a window and needed a plumber to come in and unfreeze a pipe. Every month has been a struggle to get ahead and pay the late fees that keep racking up. I paid for the plumber which was $300 but now the rental manager will not waive any of the fees. My wife and I live off of her social security and we both now have a job just to make ends meet. We don't qualify for snap or any kind of rental help because the say that we make too much and that was just with only her social security and that's only like $1100 a month. Which is ridiculous. There are many times we have to use the food pantry so we can eat. It seems we can never catch up, and the few bills we have seem to take most of our money. We both work part time and we need to make sure we don't make too much or we won't qualify for our health insurance. I am diabetic and have a rare blood disorder which requires xarelto and is expensive. Also with Trump new cuts and am now paying a higher premium to get health insurance. Comments: My car just got impounded for a suspended liscense for a previous small speeding ticket, the ticket was because I couldn't see the sign changing the speed on the road coming up, genuinely and I couldn't pay it or make it to court. Comments: I am a 59 year old man that has worked manual labor my whole life. I ain't complaining. I've been luckier than many health wise. But I simply can not dig fence post holes, unload trucks, get under a house, or on top of a house anymore. I have reached the point manual labor will cause more medical issues than the income of that manual labor provides. I am not disabled in my mind. I just need to pivot to something I can handle. After talking to other working seniors I have decided driving is my best option. In Reno being a cab driver is always available. And like all cities, door dash, Uber, etc can keep me housed and fed. Two issues will make this pivot problematic. Number one I need to get my drivers license. I have never lost it. I just didn't have a car for so long. I opted to get an ID instead of DL. I am smart enough to pass the written test. And should be fine on the drive test also. But that unknown is what is keeping my local charities like Sal Army and Catholic Charities from assisting. They seem to believe a person without a license for a couple decades will fail or something. I'm more than willing to prove I can pass a practice test. I may not have a license, but I do not drink either. So I drive at least two or three times a month due to being the only sober one available. Police are always fine with my lack of license when they realize the car owner is intoxicated, and I am not. So I am a decent driver although not a legal one. $200 will get my D.L. written and driving test covered. And once I have that I will get a vehicle. Begging for help rubs me wrong. But it may be my only hope to continue earning money at my age. I qualify as the poorest of the poor. When I hear what a family in poverty earns. I get jealous!!!! The DMV took my license until I get a medical clearance because a week after I got out of the hospital I had another stroke and ran into a tree and totaled my car. I am beyond devasted. I have applied for Social Security Disability but I know that will take years and I need help. I currently have no hot water because the water heater broke and I can not afford a new one. The roof is leaking because the shingles blew off in the last storm. Sometimes I just want to throw in the towel but I do not give up. Thanks for reading my story.

Comments: About a year and a half ago I spent a month in ICU for a ruptured brain aneurysm and arterial vasospasms. The aneurysm has left me with a lot of health issues and problems with the cognitive and logic part of my brain. I have a hard time learning new things. I have been working with Doordash for an income. Recently my car broke down and I am without a job and it is difficult for me to get a new job. I can't afford Christmas for my 3 kids. It would help us out tremendously if we could get help for Christmas presents. I appreciate the time and energy you have taken to read my issue. Comments: I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2023 at the age of 33. Every three weeks I receive chemo to extend my life and it has worked for two years and four months right now. After my diagnosis my family had to move across several states to be closer to family, so we would have a constant support system. The move has been hard on us as we left a place filled with friends and our home. My treatment is wearing on me and my family. It is also a neverending financial burden for medical and travel. My hospital is 54 miles from our house. Before my metastatic breast cancer diagnosis I was diagnosed with AML around had a bone marrow transplant. I was also diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26, which started all of this. Any financial help would be appreciated for gas, groceries or to help with medical bills. Thank you.
Comments: I am a single 60 year old American who has fallen on bad times because of physical problems I have two different kinds of cancer and I'm in the hospital right now have been here for two and a half weeks with 5 small bowel obstructions I wish I could work I used to be a commercial landscaper I've also worked in property Management DCFS department of children and family services and many other areas of work I got sick about 3 years ago stage 3 cancer leukemia and lymphoma and I just need whatever help I can give because I got hit with some surprise bills which they will not accept the charity care that the hospital proved I don't understand that I'm doing this app right now while I'm in the hospital been here two and a half weeks and don't see going home anytime soon whatever help I can get would be greatly appreciated because my goal in life is not to die on anyone anything but to love them if I am awarded this $200 it will go straight to one of these debts from these hospitals that will not accept the charity care which I received letters stating that they would the hospitals gave me 100% forgiveness for my debts but the the individual doctors I did not know where not included in the hospital won't accept it where I live the management has been very nice in the respect that they have not raised my rent to what they are charging everyone else even though they did not do anything in my apartment to make it better I was paying 925 they just raised it to 1750 per month but they're working with me and so I'm hoping that the organizations that I'm reaching out to can help lessen the burden of trying to get this debt paid I only received 1371 per month through disability I don't have SSI I don't know why but I don't and I just wanted to not die on anyone anything or leaving any burdens on my children which I have 2 and they are no help to me financially at all so like I said any hope that I can get would be greatly appreciated and if needed I will send you the copies of the receipt if you guys give me money I'm sending it straight to these bills which I don't understand why they would not take the letters and the funding from charity care I explained to them I really don't have any income left after I pay my $925 rent my $179 a month insurance car insurance the two life insurance policies which are very small because I was psyched into term life which is the worst absolute terrible insurance this world has ever seen because it goes up and if you don't have any income you just wasted your money all those years that you paid into it again I say thank you if you guys can help me and thank you if you can't because I pray you will help someone else God bless you have a great and grateful day |
